Embassy requests GoN to assist for departure of US citizens from Nepal

Health TV Online/Kathmandu: In response to the growing COVID-19 cases, the Embassy of the United States of America in Nepal has requested to the Government of Nepal (GoN) to assist the former to facilitate the departure of U.S. citizens from Nepal.

The Embassy is exploring flight options that will depart from Kathmandu once the permission is granted. “At this time we have no further details, including timeline for these arrangements, but will provide them as they become available”, the embassy’s health alert issued on Thursday stated.  Arrangements such as these take time, as there are many moving parts, so we ask for patience and that all shelter in place until we have further information about a flight or multiple flights, the embassy added.

Through the alert the Embassy has asked all U.S. citizens who are interested in departing Nepal, even if they have already been in contact, to fill out the web-based Microsoft Form that includes name, date of birth, gender, passport number, passport expiration date, and location.
