Lockdown gives Enthralling Shape to Kathmandu (Photo story)
Kalpana Acharya/Kathmandu: Nepal has been into complete lockdown for last 43 days so does the Kathmandu valley-the home for 4 million people. Vehicular movement, shops, hotels and malls, schools and businesses, offices and markets are into standstill in an attempt to control the COVID-19 pandemic.
The nationwide lockdown has been extended until May 7 and the government is planning to lengthen it by two more weeks as the novel coronavirus cases rose to 82 after 7 people tested positive on Tuesday in Nepalgunj.
We went on to roads and some historical streets in the valley this morning to observe how it looks without human footprints. With no dust and pollution the city looked enthralling, calm and quiet. Find the city in photos:
